Stalking, Shooting & Fishing
Stalking at Inveraray
Boasting an illustrious catalogue of guests dating back to the 16th Century, Argyll Estates cover an area in excess of 50,000 acres and offer some of the finest hill and woodland stalking available in Scotland. In 1562, Mary Queen of Scots visited the Estate as a guest of Archibald, 5th Earl of Argyll and shot deer in Glen Shira.
Trout & Salmon Fishing
There is excellent sea-trout and salmon fishing on the spate rivers Aray and Shira as well as the Dhu Loch, along with brown trout fishing on 14 hill lochs on the Estate. Sea Fishing is available on Loch Fyne. On the Isle of Tiree, the Estate can arrange Brown Trout fishing in the summer months.
Shooting on the Estate
Some of the most prolific and sporting snipe shooting is available on the Isle of Tiree. The island boasts the Guinness Book of Records entry for the amount of snipe shot with one barrel. The Island also provides exciting wildfowling, especially goose shooting.
